a gelatinous looking pool/pond of water lilies. the botanical garden in amsterdam could use some help. this has nothing to do with food other than the fact that the gelatinous water is similar in texture to all the gummi candy we've consumed.

last sunday night, after locking myself in the house and writing for 72 hours i went to a “mudders day” party. and literally got dunked in a mud pit.

in other news:

i got a new bike!

its made out of all recylced parts and i don't look like a tourist anymore!

its spring on my street. that's my host dad's bike.

my life during final project paper writing. not cute.

i finally finished my paper on monday (46 pages! wtf) and almost all the other people on the trip go home tomorrow. i’m looking forward to having a week to bum around, read a lot, go to the transgender filmfestival http://www.transgenderfilmfestival.com) and hang out with my dutch friends. and then naomi and mom get here!!!

today, i went on a quick trip to this small college town 30 minutes from here to visit a an awesome guy for a research project related interview.

QUEENS DAY, HANGOVER DAY (not me actually, just everyone in holland, generally), AND PING PONG DAY.

pippi on queensday.

hung over and making cupcakes. mandy (actual dutch friend), chelsea, laura.

you couldn't sell those tiny ass cupcakes to americans if you wanted to. everything is smaller in europe, especially the cupcakes. the frosting was called 'princess frosting', though and tasted like gummi bears.

at the pepper (de peper) where i volunteer, also my favorite place in amsterdam.
